Ring Sizing Guide: Find Your Perfect Fit
Ordering a ring online doesn't have to be a gamble. Here's everything you need to measure accurately at home and get the right fit on your first try.
How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home
Method 1: Measure an Existing Ring
If you have a ring that fits the finger you're sizing for:
- Place it flat on a surface
- Measure the inside diameter in millimeters with a ruler
- Use the chart below to find your US size
Method 2: The String Method
- Cut a thin strip of paper or string
- Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger
- Mark where it overlaps
- Measure the length in millimeters — that's your circumference
- Convert using the chart below

Important: Wood-Lined Wedding Band Sizing
Our premium wedding bands have a steel shell lined with stabilized wood (bog oak, koa, etc.). The wood liner is approximately 0.8mm thick on each side, which reduces the wearable interior diameter.
What this means in practice: A size 9 shell (18.8mm ID) with a 0.8mm wood liner on each side wears like approximately a size 7.
When ordering a wood-lined wedding band:
- Size up 2 full sizes from your measured finger size
- If you normally wear a size 8, order a size 10 shell
- The product page for each wedding band specifies the sizing offset
Skateboard rings do not have this issue — they're solid wood, and sizes correspond to standard measurements.
Tips for Getting It Right
Measure at the Right Time
Your fingers change size throughout the day:
- Best time: Late afternoon or evening, when fingers are at their largest
- Avoid: Early morning or right after exercise
- Temperature matters: Cold weather shrinks fingers, warm weather swells them
Knuckles vs. Base
If your knuckles are significantly larger than the base of your finger, measure both. Pick a size that slides over the knuckle comfortably but doesn't spin freely once on.
When in Doubt, Size Up
A slightly loose ring is always better than one that's too tight. This is especially true for wider bands, which fit tighter than narrow ones.
